Annual Meeting Announcement and Updates

Active Members of GACE,

We are just 71 days away from the Annual GACE Conference, to be held in Savannah, Georgia, March 3-6, 2026. A few things to remember as we get closer to the conference:

1. REMINDER: This conference will be an election conference. The following board positions are up, Treasurer, 1st Vice President, and 3rd Vice President. Nomination Forms are on the website. Qualifications to be approved as a nominee are outlined in the GACE By-Laws; ARTICLE IV. OFFICERS AND BOARD OF DIRECTORS Section 2: Eligibility for Office: Cal Ford, of Tucker, GA is the Nominating Chair, he and his team are excited to communicate with both nominators and those nominated. Remember; Active Membership Matters. DEADLINE: Nominations will not be valid after January 4, 2026.... we must provide absentee ballots...

ATTENTION: If you have been nominated, please ensure to communicate with Cal Ford on any documents you may need to have completed. Remember, Supervisor permission is REQUIRED. 

2. The Kathy Cox Memorial Scholarship applications are open and the recipient will be awarded at this conference. Scholarship applications are available on the GACE website. GACE will award one college academic scholarship in the amount of $5,000 to an entering freshman or upperclassman student who demonstrates superior academic achievements and has financial need. The scholarships can only be awarded to the child or grandchild of an active, retired, or deceased member of GACE. Deadline for scholarship applications is February 10, 2026.

3. The Commemorative Service Award, to recognize a Code Enforcement Officer who has demonstrated exceptional dedication, going above and beyond their normal duties, or who has performed an act of heroism in the line of duty, enhancing the safety and well-being of the community. Nomination forms are on the website. The Committee has been selected:

Pam Nickles, Jerry Pittman, Jeff Childs, and Shawn Rhodes; Thank you for your ability to review all submissions. Deadline is fast approaching.... I know we have wonderful members who should be commended for the work they put into communities around Georgia. DEADLINE: February 5, 2026
