New GACE Mailing List

I sent out an email this morning from the old self-hosted system at 4:15am.  It took 2 hrs. 44 min. and 30 seconds to send out 990 emails.  The email I sent out around the subscription link was sent to 1056 users and was sent in 7 minutes and 16 seconds. This means that we can now send out an emergency email that will only take a few minutes instead of nearly 3 hours to reach everyone. That is one of the reasons that the mailing list was not used last week to send everyone an email about the conference being cancelled. It was just too slow a system to be effective.

The new list is fast and will reach the membership in minutes instead of hours. Kudos to the GACE Board for approving the decision to move to the new hosted system.
