You all are rock stars! This meeting was nothing short of impressive and very productive. I always like to review what was discussed (not minutes) and open opportunity for each committee member to add to the follow up discussion. Please add to what I've provided, I am sure I left something out.ย
Topics Covered:
Legislative Time Line: Mac will work to get the committee an outline for Legislative process and making a path for our legislative proposal to move through the Capital.ย
Legislative Proposal Edits: The committee took a collective review and recommended clerical edits to improve the proposal as a professional document. Mac, and Angel will complete a full review of the proposal before sending out to committee and have it ready for the Conference introduction.ย
Letter of Request for Support and Leadership: The committee reviewed and edited a draft letter to be used when seeking support, and leadership aid from target audience(s).ย
Invitation to Prospective Sponsors & Supporters and (Legislative Budget Request): Wally, will work with Allen Robertson, to set a meeting (luncheon or dinner) with respected leaders (seeking support and sponsorship). Wayne and Angel will request a budget for legislative committee activities to gain momentum and support.
Prospective Sponsors (Legislators, Senators, & State Agencies): Team listed potential legislative leaders who we can communicate with. Discussed possibly invitation to DNR, Dept. of AG, POST, BOAG, and others.ย
Rally up with Education Committee: Meet & Greet function to collaborate with members of the Education Committee to set a Code Enforcement Day at the Capital, Legislative Brochure, and Brochure promoting GACE. Meet & Greet September 24, 2024, Room 324, at 7:00PM.
Data Collection of Specific Information:ย Team discussed ways to capture the following data:ย
1. Number of Code Enforcement Professionals serving local communities throughout Georgia.
2. Incident reporting of our membership (Document at registration that has a QR Code to a survey and ability to fill out the form.ย
